Women Health Fair
WOMEN HEALTH FAIR. Several woman and health groups in Davao City held last Monday, May 29, a health fair to mark the 19th International Day of Action for Women’s Health. The event was held at the NCC Mall and was organized by, among others, Gabriela, Talikala, Women Studies and Resource Center, Alagad Mindanao, the Mindanao Working Group on Reproductive Health, Gender and Sexuality, and Lawig Bubai. Among the services offered to the public that day were circumcision, blood typing, dental services, eye checkups, Pap smear, herbal medicines and other health services. Are those the ones that stick to your feet and “detoxify” your body? The pad turns grey to black during use? If so, don’t waste your money. I saw a bit on a news show and they are a scam–the pads are impregnated with a(I think they said) vinegar solution that turns black when exposed to water. the idea is you attach it to the sole of your foot, it is an “airtight” seal- your foot sweats and THAT is what turns the pad brown. (Just ty it out by dropping some water on the pad and let it soak in) It doesn’t remove toxins, especially heavy metals– be real, if it was that easy and such an “ancient” cure someone besides the infommercial people would be using it by now? You’d be better off to just drink a lot of water, or go the the health food store and ask them about detoxifying agents that you ingest. Good luck in your effort but don’t waste your money on a scam. Like they say, “if it sounds too good to be true…..”
